COVID 19 / Coronavirus Status
All government restrictions have been lifted.
Dancing has started again on Monday the 6th September 2021.
The government strategy is to keep the infections spreading until the country reaches "Herd Immunity". As a result it is not a case of "if" but "when" we catch the virus. To combat this, & safeguard others, it is recommended that a lateral flow test is performed twice a week, & isolating when it comes out positive.
COVID 19 - Risk Assessment
There is a finite risk of catching Covid 19 when in close contact with others in the room. This is folk dancing.
COVID 19 - Mitigation
Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell. If in any doubt, take a lateral flow test before coming.
The hall will be ventilated as much as possible, so have extra clothing for the break, or for sitting out.
Hand sanitiser is always available. Use as frequently as you deem necessary.
Bring a face mask & wear it if you feel happier doing so.
Bring your own drink & biscuits for the break. The kitchen will be out of bounds.
If you are unhappy with the close contact of a ballroom hold, then make it clear at the time, that you would prefer a 2 hand swing instead.
Please, if you test positive, shortly after an evening of dancing with us, let someone in the committee know, so that we can all test & isolate to avoid spreading covid to others.
